Ally-oop Dillo, pencil on wood, 60×60
The drawing is completely inspired by the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar’s call for armadillo art celebrating the fair’s 50th year. Everything is bigger in Texas so I went as big as I could with a 5 x 5 foot panel to honor the nine banded mammal. The drawing was done completely with a 2B graphite pencil and took 100 hours to complete this summer. The birch and maple panel is made by the artist and is varnished and sealed on all sides. The reference photo is from my friend, Alison, who was obsessed with a roll of armadillos visiting her campsite in Texas Hill country.
Archival 24”x24” archival prints available.
Panels are handcrafted by artist from birch and maple and are 1.75” deep.
Every painting has a UV protectant varnish on all surfaces.
